Who is Pen 2 Pal for?
Pen 2 Pal is open to all ages! It is designed for anyone who craves real, human connection and wants to experience the unique joy of writing and receiving physical letters.
How does the middleman system protect my privacy?
Your physical address is never shared with anyone on the internet. When you write to a pal, you send your mail using their unique "Friend Code." We route the mail safely to its destination. If you ever decide you no longer want to exchange letters with someone, you can simply block their code. Because they never had your home address, they have no way to contact you.
How much will it cost?
While signing up, browsing, and finding potential pen pals will be free, sending physical mail requires postage. Also, since we are acting as a 3rd party mail service, there is a USPS form that needs to be filled out and notorized before any mail can actually be sent, notorizing the form could have a cost ($0 - $15) associated with it.
We do plan to offer two ways to send letters: Pay-As-You-Go (Bring-Your-Own-Stationary) Option for 5-10 letters a month, or flexible Subscription Tiers (see below)that deliver bundles of pre-postaged envelopes (and stationary) directly to your door.
Will you offer stationery or supplies?
Yes! We plan to have subscription tiers that will include themed stationery boxes with high quality paper and envelopes, and curated add-on items like fun pens, stickers, and wax seals to elevate your writing experience. We plan to have them start a $25 either monthly or bi-monthly. We also plan to offer discounds the longer you're subscrubed to the service!
Can I match with pen pals outside of the United States?
At launch, Pen 2 Pal is exclusively available to members residing within the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories). Both you and your matched pen pal must be located in the US to send and receive letters through our secure proxy system. We are actively exploring international expansion options for future releases!
